We have so many wonderful, funny, happy memories of our beautiful girl, but one that sticks in my mind is when we went to our old market town for a wander. They were dog friendly in almost all the shops, so Cherry came with us.
In fact, we never left her. If we couldn’t take Cherry somewhere, we didn’t go. Even food shopping, she came too, and while I got the shopping, Paul took her for a walk around the supermarket carpark. We were lucky that we were both at home all day, so during her eight years with us, we were together 24/7. We’d decided early on that we wouldn’t leave her alone. You wouldnt leave a child home alone, and to us, she was our baby.
Anyway, we went for a wander around the old town, in and out of the various shops. We were in a shop that sold all sorts of clothing, hats and shoes, when we heard someone laughing. We looked around to see Cherry trotting along beside me with a white furry hat in her mouth. She’d grabbed it as we went past the low rails.
😂😂 She must have thought it was a toy or something. She looked so sweet and funny with this white fur hat dangling from her mouth!
We took it off her and apologised to the staff, but luckily they thought it was funny and sweet too.
We had to watch her like a hawk from then on because she’d grab all sorts of things in shops if they were within reach, such as this rope toy, which we let her keep, bless her 🥰
