A short while after we brought her home, I - Paul - was taking Cherry for her bedtime wee along the road by our house which has street lights.  Suddenly she bent her head down in the gutter at the edge of the pavement and grabbed something. I couldn’t see what it was but it was quite big and she had her jaws clamped round it.  At first I though it was a Rat but then when i bent down to try and get her to drop it, i realised it was a hedgehog!  I asked her to drop it but there was no way she was letting go.  In the end I had to gently prise it from her mouth. Stupid girl obviously didn’t realise it was covered in spikes and her mouth was bleeding where she’d clamped her jaws on it.  So typical of her, it seemed that every time we took her out in those early days, she would injure herself. She should have been named “Calamity Jane”
